A folk music awards event that honors artists and their work from the past year. Every autumn, a jury of folk music experts, along with public opinion, determines the winners in various categories, such as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Traditional Music of the Year, New Folk Artist of the Year, Debut Album of the Year, and Musician of the Year. Two special awards are also given: the Radio 2 Special Award and the Estonian Folk Music Center Special Award.
