YAMsession 2025
YAMsession is an inspiring international conference and showcase festival for creative professionals working with live music for young audiences.
This unique event will feature inspiring concerts, presentations, and discussions, all leading up to the YAMawards 2025 Ceremony, where the best music productions for children and young audiences will be celebrated.
YAMsession takes place in a different country every year and brings a diverse concert programme featuring many different musical styles. This year, the renowned event arrives in Estonia for the first time, in Viljandi! A collaboration between the Estonian Traditional Music Center and YAMsession will introduce an international audience to the fascinating world of Estonian folk music while offering a chance to experience fresh and creative concert formats.
“One of our main goals is to broaden the horizon of our musicians and audiences, to show and experiences, what is done in other countries and to gather inspiration for creating modern concert programmes for young audiences,” says Margit Kuhi, the head of programme and education in Estonian Traditional Music Center and a member of YAMcommitee. "It's just as important to introduce our musicians' work to international delegates and help them find more performance opportunities abroad. YAMsession is a great place for this, musicians from different countries come together, share experiences, get inspired, and make connections to create diverse and modern concert formats for young audiences. We're also actively involving the local community, welcoming children and youngsters from Viljandi’s kindergartens and schools to enjoy the concerts."
YAMsession 2025 focuses on encouraging professional dialogue and collaboration in the fields of music and education, while offering young audiences enriching musical experiences. A key highlight is the showcase concerts, where both local and international artists perform their best programmes for young audiences.
